Mysteries of Writing is an autonomous workshop which involves the use of a paper flyer delivered to all families at the ticket office.
The aim of the educational activity is to help the Scribe to trace, using the objects presented in the exhibition and the related captions, his descendant, that is that figure who in more recent times has carried on his same profession.
The Scribe...
...who leads the activities
The Scribe was chosen as the guide of the activity since in the primary school didactic programmes there's a first approach to Egyptian culture in which the scribe is the best known exponent.

The Scribe accompanies the laboratory showcase after showcase and, several times, appears in the flyer to give clues, propose activities or indicate what point the visitors have reached in solving the puzzles.

The icons...
... from showcase to showcase
In order to proceed with solving the puzzles, it is necessary to look for clues inside the showcases or between the lines of the captions.
The solution of the puzzles is parallel to the viewing of the exhibition, the aim of the exercise is to put the little observer in contact with the exhibit on display.
To make the passage from one showcase to another easy and intuitive, each of them is associated with an icon representative of the theme.

The Solution...
... step by step
The different activities and exercises in the flyer allow to discover the location to go to look for clues that will be useful in solving the following puzzles or allow to find the word to insert in the final crossword.

Once the crossword is completed, the name of the Scribe's descendant appears in the highlighted column.

Miss Remington...
... the mysterious descendant
The name of the mysterious descendant of the Scribe has finally been revealed!

Miss Remington is the nickname given to Rose Fritz, the icon of Remington company advertisements as well as the first woman to win a typing competition with the Remington typewriter.

Not just a typist, but a talented and independent woman, a real role model.
